Not if used properly. Pink eye is caused by bacteria. If you share your eyeliner with people then you are more likely to get pink eye or a bacterial infection of you conjunctiva of the eye. I have allergies and have noticed that any time I wear to much make up to close to my eyes they become pink, but that is due to irritation. I highly recommend never sharing any makeup with anyone. Seriously you can get some nasty diseases and not even realize it until it is too late and some of them can not be treated.

Wearing eyeliner may cause eye infections if:

1. You are using someone else's eyeliner
2. The eyeliner is of a very bad quality and brand name, so it may have a lot of harmful chemicals in it that other better brands don't have.
3. Your eye is somehow allergic to an ingredient used in the eyeliner.
4. Your eyeliner is very old. Doctors recommend changing eyeliners ever 6 to 8 months to prevent eye infections, and changing mascara every three months to prevent eye infections.

Wearing eyeliner does not cause pink eye. Pink eye is a virus.
If you've had pink eye, it's important to throw out all of your eye makeup...I even buy new facial brushes. Pink eye is extremely contagious! I don't get pink eye very often, but when I do, of course don't wear eye makeup while it's active. But throw out eyeliners, mascara, eyeshadow. You should replace these every 3-4 months anyway.

No. Unless you used someone's eyeliner that had pink eye or they used yours. Or if your eyeliner has been contaminated from another source. Germs are everywhere in the air. If you have dirty hands and touch the tip you could spread germs on the liner and give yourself pink eye.

Throw it out and buy a new stick if it's given you pink eye, also avoid wearing any eye make-up at all while you have this.

No, as long as the eyelinger is hypoalegenic.

Some people don't clean their eyeliners, by dipping them in rubbing alcohol every week. It will cause bateria to grow on it if you don't. So after 2-3 months it's good to buy new ones or else the bacteria can get in your eye and cause problems.

Cleaning your brushes and makeup is supposed to be done weekly. I am a professional makeup artist and you can feel free to ask me anything.

no, but if someone else has used your eyeliner, then i suggest that you NOT use it, because you can get pink eye from there eye germs/liquid because it will be on your eyeliner. also, if someone who has pink eye used it then YES you will get it. so just be careful about your eyeliner and tell your friends that you dont want them to use it. they should understand. good luck!

Ummm... depends on if someone else used it that had pink eye. If you got something on your eyeliner and you got it in your eye, that could happen. But maybe it's not your eyeliner. You could've wiped a bugger in your eye or something.

if you share eyeliner with another person, particularly if that person has pink eye. the only way to prevent this is to NOT SHARE EYELINER OR OTHER EYE MAKEUP.
