why do you need a del.icio.us account to manage your bookmarks in firefox?

it keeps telling me to sing in when i try to bookmark a page, is there any way around this, all i want to do his hit a button to bookmark

You don't need to do this, you can use Firefox bookmarks instead of delicious. If you are doing a normal bookmark (try pressing ctrl-D) and it's prompting you, then you probably have some sort of Firefox extension installed. Uninstall any sort of extension that is linking you to delicious.

you dont. just click bookmarks then organise bookmarks.
