Pregnancy can be closely associated with fear, since the fear of having children, raising them, is pretty much universal.

Having contractions is one way in which the subconsious or hidden fear can be brought to the surface (omg, this 'baby' is coming out NOW). The fact of there being more people in class than normal (200 compared to 30) seems to indicate a feeling of being even more focused upon, so that the feeling is akin to 'everyone is watching me'. More people is almost always a sign of a feeling of being over-scrutinized, since the more people who know or witness something, the more embarrassing it feels.

It could be the class is one you are having a significant difficulty in but you try to hide it (pregnancy can also represent being 'full' of something, so much so you can't hold it in any longer). However, being in that class means that the class (or soemthing/someone in it) is giving you more than you can handle so you start 'contractions' as a symbolic way of saying 'this is too much'. And it happening during class also means you are afraid of what the 'others' in the class will think of you because of your fears. Maybe you need tutoring to help deal with the classload in general, or you need to take some time away from class to not worry about it so much. The less worry you bring to class, the less likely you will continue to be 'pregnant'.

A lot depends on your life situation. I don't know you at all, but just a guess - pregnancy often stands for "birthing" a new idea, a new life, and new place. Are you planning to move, get into or out of a relationship, go on to another college or another grade, or just "change"? Those are some of the possibilities. Also, are you
having sex without protection or with a lot of different people? Not to judge you, but your subconscious could be warning you to beware of diseases, and etc.

According to my dream book, when dreaming of being pregnant when one is not, refers to a new area of one's potential or personality developing; a deepening relationship with one's unconscious is producing a new area of experience- still unexpressed, but developing. So something is going on inside of you, that is good! Just let it develop and soon you will begin to see what this is all about.

What I am still wondering about is that in your dream you also said that you had contractions in a classroom of 200 people. Well, contractions is the beginning stages of birth. So what I think is that this new area of growth is getting ready expose itself to you, and soon! Could it be that this class that your taking is what is provoking this new and unconscious development? I'm curious about what class this is that your taking!

Keep in mind dreams can sometimes be your subconscious time to play, unwind or make you refocus on what is important... sometimes dreams mean noting. Freud said, sometimes a cigar is just that, a cigar. If you are stressed you can have whacked out dreams. If you drink, don't slip into REM sleep, and sleep later you enter REM sleep sooner and can have really intense or really weird dreams. If it got you to refocus your life on what is important, then it has done its job. Just my opinion from the classes I've taken, the professors I talked to, and the books I read.

Dreams dealing with birth can mean death, but I see it has the start of something new, or the beginning of something...

Dreams cannot predict the future unless if you feel it real strong. (Believe me you will know if you saw your future or its just a dream.) I think you just had another dream. Maybe you are feeling unsecured about something. Maybe you have a fear for something.
