This is a steroid in liquid form that doctors prescribe for children with bronchitis-type colds and respiratory infections. My children have used this in the past when they've had a "barking" cough. It opens the airways by reducing inflammation. This will help her to breathe easier. Side effects mainly consist of hyperactivity--my children never wanted to sleep at all, and had so much energy. This medication is used for severe respiratory problems. This med is given in high does frist and as time goes on, the drug is taperd, that is, it is giving at a high dosage frist and taperd to a low dosage later. The problem is on taking this medication is the patient will get fat due to taking this medication. Their body will become moon face along with their hands and feet get big too. How ever, this condition will diappear in due time.
