I have a Frigidaire Elite electric stove with the solid burners (not the coils). The big burner has a crack in it and will not work. Is it possible to replace that burner with a regular coil burner? If I were to get another solid burner for it, it would cost me over $150!! I would much rather spend the $20 or so and get a regular coil burner.

yes it can be done but you would need to get a new switch to control the new burner they would have to be compatable with each other and the new burner/switch assy would have to not be overrated electrically on this stove! I dont recommend it

by solid burner, do you mean that the burner is fatter than other brands of stoves' elements? or do you mean you have a solid glass or metal burner topped stove? in either case the answer is no, you can't switch out the burner for a skinny tube like a GE or Whirlpool. nor can you make the glass top burner a regular open element. unless Frigidaire offered the stove that way. sorry, but you can't run VW tires on a Caddy.
