I cannot remember who peeves is, can someone help me with his background info. from the hp books?

Peeves the poltergeist. He's the one who floats around and plays tricks on all the Hogwarts students and teachers. The only person he won't play tricks on is the Bloody Baron (I think that's his name), the ghost of Slytherin. That's really all the information that the books give on him, as far as I remember.
On a side note- have you heard of the new book? It's the last one, will be coming out in 2007, and is called Harry Potter and the Darkly Hallows. Interesting, huh? Have fun!

Peeves is a poltergeist in Hogwarts and is different from the ghosts including Nearly Headless Nick and the Blood Baron Nehoot...Peeves is generally mischievous and listens to no one but Dumbledore (when he was alive) and he was scared of the Bloody Baron who's the ghost of Slytherin. Rowling doesn't let on why Peeves is scared of the Baron but he calls him "Your Bloodiness" and "Mr. Baron." Plus in the third book, "The Prisoner of Azkaban" Harry pretended to be the Baron and Peeves obeyed him. Peeves' nemesis, Argus Filch is constantly trying to get the poltergeist kicked out of the school but he's not succeeded yet and i doubt he will. Well that's pretty much it on Peeves. Peeves is the Hogwarts poltergeist. He loves causing trouble and doesn't listen to anything anyone tells him, except in the fifth book, but that was a special scenario.

Peeves is the poltergeist who causes all sorts of mischief. His favorite hobbies include blowing raspberries at Professor Umbridge (during 5th year), painting the eye lenses of telescopes black and knocking statues over onto people.

Peeves is a poltergiest who taunts Hogwarts students. HE can only be controlled/stopped by the Bloody Baron, who is one of Hogwarts ghosts.

he's not in the movies.... but he is in the books! he is just a troublemaker, a poltregeist that just wants to Bother everyone.
for example, he is responsible for hazing the new kids that come into hogwarts (in book 1 i think he throws water balloons at the already wet kids)... he sticks his tongue out, yells out rude comments, can pick things up and drop them onto people, etc etc. i believe in the 2nd and 6th book he is responsible for screaming out that "harry potter is a murderer", etc, and gets all the teachers all over his back. he also is only scared of the BLoody Baron ghost

peeves is the rude ghost who drops water balloons or something on students, pulls carpets out from under their feet, and is scared of the bloody barron (another ghost)
