Check out downtown San Diegos Gaslamp District- nice restaurants,jazz bars etc. On New Years Day I've heard there is actually a balloon Parade in Downtown too-don't know where exactly- look up the city website for info on specifics. Also maybe Balboa Park (all the museums/zoo) probably some bashes there.

Dude, there are so many things going on in SD for New Years that I wouldn't even know where to begin. More than likely, you will find something auesome to do there. New Years in San Diego is off the hook!

Escondido ususally has a big thing in grape day park...fireworks, familys, havent heard about this year, but i guess they willl again

not much this year that isn't sold out. Del Mar Racetrack used to be off the hook, but its no more :(
