Rap and grafiti seem to incorporate hate, disrespect, and insensitivity. Is this someone's corny idea of 'soul'?
Were we wrong in thinking that 'soul' had to do w/ feeling and sensitivity?
Are we heading back to dwelling in caves?

K King s---You're probably right. I do dislike these people,--but I dislike them for blocking out the beautiful things I came to enjoy and exchanging beauty for ugly in my life. They have monopolized radio and T.V. : but you don't have to tell me it's not my world anymore. I already know that, but i'm sure you'll come to regret the loss of your own, when YOUR time comes.

Depends on how you look at it. Rap may be distasteful to some, but I personally find country music to be far more upsetting. Graffiti, although a crime and often depicting inappropriate images, is just another form of art. Baggy clothes are just a group of people, usually younger people, trying to define who they are through style. Throughout time, there have been many periods of "questionable taste." Your questions make me think that it is the group of people you dislike as opposed to the actual things associated with the group of people.

The generation of rap, graffiti was created in the 80's. Baggy clothes came with dancing moves and progressed in the 90's. Soul music is from the motown days.
