Note I'm not asking if you can make someone do something they don't want to do. I'm asking if hypnosis can be used to change their perception of you.

So if they think you're dull, can you make them think you're sharp. If they think you're ugly can you make them think you're attractive. If they think you're timid, can you make them think you're confident.

That kind of thing.

In principle, yes, it can. In practice, it would be very difficult, and it would depend greatly on their willingness to believe the illusion.

Hi,
With hypnosis you can change somebody's perceptions and connections in the brain. It can be very useful in treating disorders that are caused by association (eg. anxiety disorders and addiction). Therefore, it is possible to change somebody's perception of another person. However, the person you are hypnotising has to be willing to undergo hypnosis as it is a process to go under hypnosis (it's not like in the movies where you watch into a twirling wheel).

Probably. It might be innappropriate, since it's accepted that hypnosis should not be used to try to achieve goals other than the wishes of the person under hypnosis. I've also heard that the person being hypnotized has to want to move in the direction you are suggesting for the hypnosis to work.

Self-hypnosis can show you how to be charismatic .Your actions and beliefs make up a lot of what make you attractive . A most homely person can appear handsome if the personality is outstanding . It's what's inside that counts . Be charismatic . You can't change a person's thoughts ; but your personality can change their perception of you .

Well, I guess...in a way yes and in a way no. If you hypnotize them, they are really not into it by heart. They are into it mentally and will only think so becuz hypnosis places a small message into your brain to think/do this and that. And of course, your body follows. But you are "inwardly" out of place.
I don't know how to explain it! It's like lying- I guess is what I'm trying to say.

It can help one convince them self these things which in turn can attract that vibration and then others will be more inclined to think those ways about you. These things are all superficial though. If one does not have real self esteem internally in relationship with ones maker also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. then they can never be truly happy. go to stephen-knapp. for universal truths and read e-book The Key to real Happiness go to krishnaculture. also Read Bhagavad Gita As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada We are not these bodies, IE; race, color, religion, nationality, senses, job, etc. We are eternal spirit soul, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul. Realizing this will give us real self confidence.

No. I even don't know if hypnosis is real, but if it is, then it can solely be used to get information in someone's head, and not change it.

If they are willing to do it, they could be hypnotized to think that for a short period (while hypnotized), but probably not continue that thought afterwards.
