A spa gift certificate is always nice, if you have kids a weekend getaway is good also.

Money is not an issue, feelings are.......having said that I would give her a full spa treatment, manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, get her hair done......then, no before then, serve her breakfast in bed with a single flower on the tray. On her plate have little pieces of paper, each giving one reason why you love her, do about 15-20. In her glass make her a combination of champagne and orange juice, a great cup of coffee, and a small danish....then give her the gift certificate for the spa......take her there, and pick her up. When you pick her up, have the rest of the day planned out, something very simple but very romantic like a picnic by the river, or renting a small cabin in the woods with a fireplace, soft music, slow dancing, you get the picture. Oh, make sure they serve lunch at the spa, she will be hungry. For dinner get great take out from a fancy restaurant, or her favorite restaurant, and have that food for the picnic, or at the cabin, just heat up.....to end the day take a bubble bath together, and give her a nice present, something she's been wanting, or something that says how you feel and how beautiful you think she is....Make sure the night is the best part of the day, lots of candles, soft music, champagne, wine, or her favorite drink. Have a new pretty, sexy, but not slutty nighty for her when she gets out of the bubble bath. One that feels really good on her skin. Love on her all day, kisses, hugs, hand holding whispers of love, but save the love making for the night, build her up to it all day.....then make it as romantic and as exciting as you can......more slow dancing, slow seduction, treat her like the goddess that she is. After all is said and done, don't you fall asleep right away. Hold her, tell her how she is the most important and wonderful thing in your life....Don't forget desert, strawberries dipped in chocolate, man are they good.......Plan well now, you don't want to be so busy with stuff that she's just sitting by herself......Plan it and prepare the day so that when you are together, you are together......Hope this stimulates your imagination. If she's the kind of girl that would love a party, do that between the spa and the romantic dinner....Talk with her girlfriends and get them to help you plan and get everything ready. Just put a lot of thought into it, and she will love it, because you took the time to show her how much she means to you......Have fun....

I don't know what your wife's interests are, but I know what I would like for my birthday. Your wife doesn't want to be reminded of how old she is getting, so I would suggest doing something that takes her mind off of it. Maybe take her to an Ice Capades show and dinner, or go ice skating and have some hot chocolate. I would suggest whatever you do, make her aware of how beautiful she is and allow her to feel that way for the entire day. It's not about the gift when we get older, it's about the way it's given. if you can afford it, take her on a trip, maybe to the bahamas, my husband took me there for my last birthday and it was the best one so far.. maybe she has a favorite place she likes to go. Or one that she has always wanted to but hasn't. We went for a weekend and it was awesome. If you go to Nassau Beach hotel, they have good prices and is a pretty nice hotel, plus you can do stuff at the nearby hotels as well, the wyndam is next door and they have a casino you can use and their pools.. he also took me on this subdive, which was one of the coolest experiences of my life, but I am sure the trip alone would be awesome, or maybe you could repropose to her, maybe even while in the bahamas, and if you cant afford a new ring steal her current one, she might think she lost it and when you surprise her and give it to her while you are on your knees, she just might cry

Give her 36 red roses, take the day off and treat her like q queen. Women are emotional fools.The most expensive gift in the world will not match upto this.

How about a gift certificate to a spa for a massage. We are all stressed and I think this is a very thoughful gift and will help her feel better.

A sexy weekend in your city's best hotel, in the middle of which you take her out to a restaurant she wants to go to or a show or concert she wants to see. And arrange for the sitter too ... lots of guys forget to do that. Good luck.

How about getting your daughters handprints by paint and then framed or even on a stone for the garden??? I would love something like that... Very simple but priceless also.
