I won't go into details but my new sweater had vomit stains on it. After washing it twice, the smell still lingers - what should I do? (I believe it's a poly blend).

take it to the dry cleans and let them deal with it.... it should be about 5.00 the most... and the headace is out of your head... and there you go looking good in your new sweater ......................again....

Believe me Something in the same field happened to me and I ended up losing the sweater because I tried to clean it myself..

The greatest product on the planet for anything that stenches is Fabuloso!
That crap will take the stink off of a skunk.
I don't think it actually states that you can add it to laundry on the label, however, I use it for dog bedding in the washer and it's great.

Hopefully you did not run it through the dryer. This will set the smell. If you did not dry it, rewash it with vinegar and hang to dry outside in the sun, Otherwise you might have to have it dry cleaned, they have odor removers.
