Yes. Trust me, you can gain more than that. One pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories. If you eat or drink 500 calories more than you need or can burn off through exercise everyday, then that will make you gain one pound in a week. So if you've gained 15 - 20 pounds in 4 months it is easy to see how it happened.

Yep, in fact you can pack on a lot more if your not careful. I was always skinny growing up and into my teens and early twenties. I got pregnant and had a miscarraige. Afterwards, because of depression , I packed on the weight until I was 170. I freaked and I dieted severely and lost 40 lbs in a couple months and at 5'9 I weighed 125 lbs. Too thin. I packed it back on. Now I'm at a stage where I have realized I have to make some SERIOUS lifestyle changes. I have started already and plan to be smart about weight loss and improve my eating habits without starving myself or over-excercising, which I have done in the past. When you lose a lot of weight fast you send your body into a type of high-alert preservation mode. This means your body will start to store fat quickly to avoid future starvation. You end up with the opposite result. You lose a bunch of weight quickly only to pack it on twice as much. It's all in your lifestyle choices.

Yes. It can happen. We had a weight gain epidemic here after Hurricane Katrina, where people gained 20 pounds in one month from eating MREs and it being too hot to do much with no electricity, and no air conditioning.

Many people gain faster than they can lose.

Gain weight? easy. too many calories and not enough excercise. It is losing weight which is hard to achieve.
If too much food is the problem, then there is no need to look for other causes. A problem would be weight gain without extra food intake.

Depending on your diet

I had a eating disordered for 2 months and started eating a lot and gained 25 lbs in those 2 months as my food mostly came from fast food like burgers and fries.

Yes it easier to gain than to lose!
Look at the GI Diet by Rick Gallop, its really good and easy to use...effective too as I can vouch for personally. I have lost 80lb in 6 months with it and exercise. It has also helped control my doabetes;

well DUH if you know you have eaten a lot why would you be surprised to gain weight. Of course you're going to gain weight if you eat a lot, especially if you are not exercising. If you are worried about the weight gain, lay off the food or add some regular exercise.
