I know a 16 year old thats planning on running away.....she lives in north carolina....do they have laws stating that as long as she has a home to go to the police can't make her go back to her guardians? Will any one she goes to live with get in any legal trouble for helping her?

No, there is not a law that states that. The law states that the age of majority is 18, and the NC Juvenile Code states that any juvenile under 18 years of age is subject to the supervision and control of their parents. That means her parents get to decide where she lives. The exceptions to that are juveniles that are married, serving in the armed forces (both of which require parental consent) or have been emancipated by the court (which is RARELY granted).

I'm pretty sure she would simply be returned to her parents. If there is a problem at home, then she needs to contact the Department of Family Services or similar agency. If it's not worthy of that, then maybe she needs to stop being ungrateful for what she has and get over it.
