i recently purchased a male and a female guppy from a pet store, the female was preganant when i got her and a few days later the male died...i was wondering if or when my female will ever have her fry, she's in a 2 gallon tank by herself now, im planing on getting more guppies and some other fish too to keep her company. but in the mean time i read it was less stressful on the female to be alone when she gives birth...her gravid spot has been the same since i baught her...can you help me out?

She may have been inseminated by the male or at the petstore, and may have fry (babies). Keep an eye on her belly and see if it grows. The gravid spot may always be visible depending on the colour of your fish - but it'll get bigger/darker as the fry develop.

A 2 gallon is really too small for guppies. Guppies (and most fish) need heat (a heater set to 78F), filtration (to eliminate toxic ammonia) and swimming room (a minimum of 6 gallons). Consider upgrading to a large tank - you could get a 10 gallon with heater and filter, used, for like 20$.
If you can't upgrade, just keep the one female guppy and be sure to do 50% water changes every other day (use a turkey baster).
