Washington, he believe that no man is above the law, we need to exercise this

The two are not realistically comparable. The federal government during Washington's time was more of a militia meeting than a de facto governing body. It wasn't until many years later that the Presidency developed into what it is supposed to be today. In our history there have been at least 3 or 4 different era's in which Presidents have presided over. The early years, the expansionary years, the post-industrialism years, and the modern era. Breaking it down you would easily choose Washington as the best from the early years, Lincoln from the expansionary years, FDR in the post-industrial, and then it's tough to call. I would definitely say that Bill Clinton is my choice, but others my look to JFK. Ironically all of these 5 Presidents are considered to be on the Liberal end of the spectrum.

Well, what an interesting comparison. And to see the answers of so many intelligent people still dealing with the catastrophe that was Clinton's second term.
I say catastrophe because the republican party worked hard and was oh so very successful in their campaign to keep Clinton from accomplishing so many of the things that he would have done for the ordinary American citizen during what is traditionally considered his 'lame duck' term.
Lame duck meaning the term where a politician traditionally will follow his conscience and do what is right (or what he feels is right) because he has no more political chips to pay back. Clinton was not allowed to do this because of so much political turmoil. I believe this was intentionally since so much of what he would have done would have been in favor of betterment of the 'common' man's condition, as I said before, but also not in favor of big business.
Yes, some more of my conspiracy theorizing but that doesn't make it any less a plausible scenario.

While Washington would of probably backhanded or at the least spanked you for even mentioning him or any pressident after him for being God like bill Clinton would probably smile, agree and offer you a stain upon your clothes as a reward.
Without a doubt George Washington set the high ground of the character needed to be President of the United States.
No president since his time has even come close in upholding such a high character while in office.
No not even Lincoln if one were to read the true history of his presidency and home life.
Clinton on the other hand was just a character who happend to get elected and in truth his actions were just as reprehensible in regards to US interventions with death and destruction included as is the present character to hold that office.

A lot of the positive things associated with Clinton’s presidency are due to the Republican controlled house and senate. The Republican sponsored "Contract with America" was responsible for balancing the budget.
Bill Clinton was a great diplomat, he deserves a lot of credit for negotiating a settlement in the Israeli Palestinian conflict (Which later the Palestinians backed out of but not Clintons fault) Clinton also was great for America abroad, I can't think of a recent leader who was more respected internationally.
I did not like his personal behavior but it was between two consenting adults so not much should have been made of it.

Also any conversation about great American Presidents is not complete without the name Ronald Reagan who was one of our greatest presidents.

Washington was the man who could have been a King, twice, and turned it down. If he'd done nothing else, that act alone makes him one of the most important people in our history. What did Clinton do that will be remembered in 200 years? Even if you attribute balancing the budget to Clinton, many presidents have done that, including Washington.

You can even put Clinton in the same category as Washington. Thank God Clinton wasn't our first president. We would still be paying taxes to the British.

EHHHH I'm not crazy about either of them. Washington had an agenda, but he did try to be fair to the guys who fought under him, none of the rich or privileged, that's for sure. He was also the wealthiest man in the colonies at the time. Yeah, I guess I'll go with him instead of Clinton.
