i was put on prednisone for 4 days about three weeks ago, i was sick...my husband and i were also ttc, i'm 5 days late and have pregnancy symptoms(sore boobs, tired, etc) but i tested negative

Hmm... I'm not sure if this drug is especially prone to delaying periods, but as another post said, lots of meds have bad side effects.
I obviously can't speak for everyone when I say this, but just about any change in routine, such as adding a new med, working out and even changes in your diet can affect your period. This definitely may be the case with you, but since you and your husband were trying to conceive, it's definitely possible that you could be pregnant.
I'd say wait it out for another few weeks. If you don't get your period, go to the doc and get a pregnancy test. These are much more reliable than the at-home versions.

I have been on and off prednisone for 30 years, never made me miss a period. However they could cause that with you. I would re test or have a blood test done. If you were throwing up while taking the pill, you could be pregnant or if you were also put on antibiotics while taking the pill it counteracts the pill, i know this from experience 2nd child, lol

Prednisone has a lot of icky side effects. (It makes me a hungry, cranky monster) If your test is neg, I'm going to say it's probably the steroids. If you don't feel better in a day or two, give your doctor a call, just to be on the safe side.

Yes extreme stress does delay your period or you can get it sooner than expected. I remember when my aunt died I was 14 years old and my period was like clock work I guess I was so emotional that it came really early during that month. My mom explained that stress plays a major role in your cycle but don't forget about pregnancy delaying your period.

It can definitly delay it, but it can't give you symptoms. You should consider having a blood test performed by your doctor!

See your doc. If you are on the pill and having thrown up you may have put yourself in danger of becoming pregnant.
