Actually, this is one of the simpliest questions ever asked:
The parent came before the child.
The diamond came before the diamond necklase.
Therefore: The chicken came before the egg.

The egg. Based on the theory of evolution you would need to go back and discern which animal was the first chicken. Since its parents would be some other kind of bird, the egg it hatched from would then be the first chicken egg.

Well I beleive it would be the chicken. In the bible it says that God made all the creatures, not that he made the egg, but if you beleive in evolution it is hard to ponder. I still beleive that the chicken would have had to come first. Don't ask me why. I just do.

The chicken would have to be first to give birth to the egg, otherwise it would just be an amorphous blob.
