Well now, that is the way the cookie crumbles . WE don't pick our pets. In most cases THEY pick US . Has nothing to do with for instance that you feed them, pet them more often or generally pay more attention to them . Cats are notorious for that . I bought a Persian cat for my hubbies birthday. Guess who got to have the privilege of being number one ! Right, the cat wants me only.Fat chance ,I don't even want him that much. Now we say he is my 'boy' but my husband's 'cat' .
Now, my Sunconure (a bird) who was a hand fed tame baby raised by me loved my husband only . When he got older he tried to fly on me to bite . (Never bit my husband );
So, be kind to the cat.It's an animal and it does not know just how terrific you really are . LOL

It's sad, but pets sometimes do this. I heard a story from my teacher, and she adopted a pet dog. But the dog's previous owner was very abusive, my teacher happened to resemble the previous owner. So the dog was always scared of my teacher, but the dog loved her husband. IT's weird, but animals are smarter than we give them credit for. I'm guessing that your cat just prefers males, and it's not your fault.
P.S- Yay Jesus Freaks! :)

Cats like to be perverse. I think they are attracted to people who would ordinarily not like them(ie. the dog person, the person with cat allergies). They seem to try ro convert that person into a cat lover.
Don't stress over it. I'm sure he loves you too, but sees your husband as more of a challenge!

It's often what our kids do too, isn't it? Rejoice that you have brought true love together and look forward to your next love assignment - or focus your mind on your own special little kitty friend to find you this time. They will just come to the door of you want them too. Buy a new kitty food dish and put it outside - you're own little darling will soon arrive. xoxo!
Peace!

My 12 year old cat prefers my husband, but she's always liked males more. I think it's because they sit around a lot more so she always has a lap available!

My Boxer dog likes men over women. He bonded very quickly to my boyfriend & prefers his company to mine, even though I feed & walk him. I think it is kind of funny, actually! You can not make animals like you better than someone else anymore than you could with people. My dog still likes me, he just likes my boyfriend better - no big deal.

I've never had that happen. My cat treats all of us equally. I can see how it would hurt a little though.

Ah, thats too bad. Buy yourself another kitten and see if he doesn't warm up to you...if not, well, you still have a shot with the kitten :)
