Casino Royale is the best Bond film ever. It really turned the Bond franchise on its head. I don't think the audience appreciate hyper reality action sequences anymore. I am sure Bourne Identity was the inspiration for Casino Royale. The series had become stagnant, the action sequences were predictable and the invisible car in the previous film with Pierce Brosnan was just stupid. Daniel Craig is perfect as the new James Bond. You really feel that you are watching a human being with extrordinary capabilities rather than some idiot with annoying smirk and nice gadgets. Considerably beefed up, Craig at least looks the part of somebody who can defend himself. He is also a lot smarter than the other Bonds, who were so good at getting themselves caught in the line of duty that you wondered if they were mentally on the same level as Forest Gump.

I thought it was good, actually it was really good when Daniel Craig took off his shirt, oh and the beach scene, that was good.

I thought it was a great movie, and Craig looks like a guy who can and willkill you. Plus he's pretty hot. I like Brosnan, but there's something too superficial about him (and I have it from someone who knows him that he's superficial in real life).

This movie is the only one that has followed the book. All the other Bond films just borrowed the title and villain and did not follow Fleming's stories at all.

I know there are Connery purists, but he's a bit too old to be Bond these days, so the only alternative is to cast someone new.

He played a good Bond. Glad they got away from the gadgetry even though that was part of the original Bond series. As far as Bourne Identity being the inspiration - I don't think so. Read the original books, they came out before the Bourne Identity. The movies were, for the most part, made from the books. Author's name was Ian Fleming.

Craig looks like a street punk or soccer thug. His girlfriend is a dog, and falling in love with her is just silly. Although if it hadn't been a James Bond movie, Casino Royale would have made an acceptable B movie, it's out of its league here. It's a skinhead movie for street teenagers whose only future is as gay prostitutes.

I thought Daniel Craig did a great job as James Bond. Great story, great acting and action sequences, and we got to see how 007 got his license to kill. I thought it was a really good film. Can't wait to own the DVD.
