I think only you can answer this after going to the library/internet and looking at all the programming languages and finding one that interests you and has information / books for starting at the basics and explanations with a lot of examples. I'm at uni and have to learn Java programming and I cant wait for this part of my course to end i hate it and sometimes find it difficult to understand. But everyone is different I know some people who love Java programming and find it really easy to understand and learn it. But it is definitely worth while researching the different languages and finding one that is right for you! Hope that helps.

Probably the easiest and certainly widely used language is BASIC
and Visual BASIC
Microsoft Office scripting language is VBA (Visual BASIC for Applications)
Visual BASIC for making database front ends, data processing and simple to intermeadiate Windows programs.
Microcontrollers can be programmed in BASIC
i.e BASIC Stamp
PIC_Basic
and BASIC compiliers for microcontrollers (IAR systems)
BASIC - Beginners All purpose Symbolic Instruction Code
is an entry level language to learn programming.
This is not to slight other languages such as C and JAVA because each language has strenghts and weaknesses.

It all depends on what kind of programming you want to do. Windows, web, gaming. There's 1 million and 1 programming languages out there. It's more about what is the best fit for what you're doing.

If you go my way, then first off learn some HTML and Javascript. These are not programming languages, but they will help you get more familiar with computers and all. After some experience, start learning C, and after that its your choice!
Happy Holidays!!!!

The most used are C / C++ / Java.
These are powerful but take serious work to learn (as does anything worth learning).
