Browser/Homepage Hijackers are installed by Trojans. Trojans are a seperate type of malicious software and usually must be removed by programs that specialize in Trojans. Some Trojans are even further specialized and need even more specialized programs to remove them. Smitfrauds and Vundo Trojans are two examples.

This is the AVG Antispyware (also known as ewido) site. It is the best general Trojan remover available. On the left side of the page is a link to do an online scan. If you choose you can download the full service 30 free trial version.

If AVGAS (ewido) doesn't remove it you can try the Smitfraud removal programs here:

Sounds to me like your browser was hi-jacked. Listed below are some tools I use to keep programs like that from taking over my browser. I would suggest you do the Trend Micro free online scan, it will look for spyware and malware. I have also added to my list Microsoft Windows Defender, it is free also.

It sounds to me as if your browser may have been hijacked. You should probably either uninstall then reinstall your browser or download a completely new one. If you're using Internet Explorer, I recommend that you download Firefox. It is much more secure.
