Nope, never assume.

I have a friend that salts and sugars EVERYTHING regardless of what it tastes like. She carries her own salt (and salad dressing). She puts sugar in things most normally wouldn't - like Splenda in pasta sauce. But I mean a *ton* of it. And she has a ritual where she puts the sugar or salt in, then shakes some all over the area around her plate. I heart her for being so odd.

Being one that cooks a lot I never use salt until after I taste something then I hardly ever use it. I'm more of a pepper person.

Nope, I like to enjoy the natural flavors of the food without ruining it with salt.

No, I don't use a lot of salt anyway so I definitely taste it first. I always salt eggs though.
