My dad met a woman who works for a very prominent insurance company and he told her that I was in insurance, too... She gave him her card and told him to have me give her a call if I was ever interested in a position. This was several months ago and at the time I was pregnant and had just started a new job, so I did not call. Should I e-mail/call her now or do you think it is too late?

No, it's not too late. Give her a call and tell her you appreciated the offer to contact her and you hung onto her card until the timing was right. You must realize the timing on her end may not be right to come up with a job for you right away, but just tell her you'd appreciate her keeping you in mind. If I were you, I would send an introductory e-mail with a line in it stating that you are going to call her on a specific date. That way, she will have had time to recall meeting your dad and jog her memory about their conversation. She also may have time to check and see if she's in a position to offer you anything or to ask you in for an interview. Then, when you call, there will be no awkward silence moment and she will have been expecting you. Also, if that's a bad day for her, business-wise, she will have time to send you a response e-mail letting you know a better time to call.

Insurance sucks - 3 more days and I will be out of the industry forever!!!

But in regards to your question... no I don't think it's too late to contact her. I think you should do it via email and attach a resume. then if she wants to respond she will.

you will not know if it is too late unless you call her, it wont cost you much to call her, so just call her and see what happens.
