Has anybody tried them and are they effective? They probably do a better job than toilet paper. Right?

It's a bidet. I tried one in Germany, mostly out of curiousity. I could see how they come in handy if you don't feel 100% clean after doing a number 2.

It's right next to the regular toilet. The water is lukewarm and they keep soap right by it. The water pressure takes a little getting used to. But mostly, it is really important to bring a towel with you.

It's a bidet. It isn't a toilet. It is more like a sink for washing the genital area. It works fine if you don't mind squatting over it.
