Today, Mankind have learnt how to change genes and have wiser, more healthy people, so why nobody is brave enough to ask it from governments ? is it racism? (I'm not speaking about color, I'm speaking about SupreHumans and Eugenics ... both are scientific so no bias plz )

Is it a kind of challenging God ? Having no heart attack at 20s ? Having more Edisons, Einsteins, etc? I know what had happened in Europe, I know, but when 1 attempt has done by a cruel beast, isn't it better to see the second one is done by a group of noble scientists? and in cooperation of people themselves?

Why you consider "death" as a premanent consequense? We're talking about enhancing human DNA (the genes' work policy), genetically we incredibly have lots of similarities with mice, dogs, cats, etc. But this DNA which can make your genes behave in a good way, and hopefully we can change the DNAs , and nobody we die or anything ... it's a kinda correction ...

1st. What you mean by "bad science" ? Is atomic science a good one? I call it "sensitive science" and it's up to you to use it in a bad or in a good way, even an axe can be consider as good or bad ...

2nd. "brain development, personality development, immune system development, and nurturing in the first few years of life" all what you've stated is possible simply by changing DNA !

3rd.
Who decides who will be superhuman?
After the birth, doctors will examine your DNA and will say your parents "your cute baby will suffer diabetes at 30s, would you like to cure him\her now?"

Who decides what color they are?
I'm not talking about colour, as darker skins are much more stronger against sun's cancer causer light and also a brown eye is much more powerful than a blue or green one !

They've done the selective breeding practices with animals for a long time now. That hasn't proved as profitable as they thought it would and there is always a "Cinderella" that comes a long to show that talent and brains isn't bred in, it's "a gift." VERY few star athletes. procreate star athletes.

Human gene technology will have the groups trying to control it for their own thinly disguised bigoted, racism reasons, just like the thinly disguised bigot, racists groups who try to control things through so-called Christianity today. Those same narrow minds will try and control gene technology. Probably with the goal of creating a Jesus who will say what they believe. Through Him they'll be able to control the world and have all the power. Which will lead to all sorts of world troubles because someone else will be "making" an Allah, Budda, Zeus . . .

Then there is that factor that if everyone is superior, no one will be superior. There will be nothing to base superiority on. If all athletes are bred to be champions, they'll be no champions. If everyone is super smart, no one will be super smart because once that bar is set, the only thing to do is "top it." It's those that rise above the rest, beat the best score, run the fastest, extraordinary people who make the difference.

Humans will evolve and the new "species" will come with it's own set of things that cause them to die. Parents will lose children, children will lose parents, people will have their hearts and lives shattered by lose. We can't stop that because it is such a necessary part of being one of God's children, it's a part of being human.

They can tamper and change genes but they'll never be able to actually be God. Only impersonate. They can try and do God's work or call it God's work and they'll succeed and they'll fail. More importantly there WILL be corruption and greed. Basically same ole same ole that's occurred through out history . . . just a different scenario this time.

You know what? Eugenics was bad science that was done at a time before people had sufficient knowledge to understand "the whole picture".

You do not need to change genes to have "wiser, more healthy" people. Go to www.zerotothree.org and see the impact of nurturing in the first three years of life - including the effects on the immune system.

Before he died Peter Jennings, ABC News, did a piece on genes; and he stated at that time (two/three years ago) that science now knows that genes account for no more than about 30% of what a person is. There is the chance that as science learns more that figure will become lower still.

The reason people aren't asking governments to change genes isn't because nobody is "brave enough". It is because most people are intelligent enough (and so are most governments) to understand the scientific realities - and those realities show how unimportant genes really are when it comes to who is "wise" and sometimes even when it comes to who is healthy.

There is no bias here. You're looking at bad science. Why not look up some science on brain development, personality development, immune system development, and nurturing in the first few years of life

After receiving your e.mail I looked at the additional details: I don't think, as long as it isn't based on color, that it is racism. I do think, though, that it is lacking appreciation for the whole way things work now. Whether people can fly or see without artificial lighting is your idea of what perfection would be. It may not be someone else's idea of what perfection would be.

People who see that there is most likely one very basic principle at the root of all life will believe that things like heart attacks are not flaws in design but are flaws in lifestyle, based on people's lack of understanding of Nature and their lack of ability to overcome some of the stresses of our society, which, in themselves, aren't necessarily Nature's design.

Sometimes in Nature certain species are given certain abilities in an apparent attempt to compensate for abilities they have not been given. The ability to fly may be a neat thing, but it doesn't necessarily have to mean superiority.

People who have a solid understanding and appreciation of Nature often marvel at how all the puzzle pieces fit together and tend to believe that humans have been given more potential than they've yet been able to live up to.

Maybe when all the humans of the world have developed every part of their brain to the point where they are, once and for all, capable of solving all the world's problems, Nature will start adding wings so people can fly around and have some fun. For now, there's a whole lot of brain-developing that isn't being done and a whole lot of work that needs to be.

No, I actually think that it is political correctness, not racism, that keeps people with superior genes from advancing in the way you describe.

If you think about it, if the human race continues on for another 200 years we will all be one big homogeneous people without any true identity to our past; no more box of crayons, just a big brown sludge. Prejudice won't be wiped out though, only creativity and the like as people will still find others to blame for their being poor or slow or fat or stupid. Good Question

Thin line to walk. A while back America, Europe, and China tried to do this with selective breeding, compulsory sterilization etc. It turned into a huge human rights nightmare. The Germans really took it to an extreme. What a mess. I would imagine though, that through genetic manipulation we would be modifying traits and eventually, the rest of us would simply die out eventually. This does offer a sliver of hope of avoid the whole racism issue but it's a slim one. Still too risky.

What is selective breeding? Who has a right to act as sculptor? This is a real issue. This is not only, history. This is not a subject to be left to the "aristocracies", be they medical, political or economical. This is mankind's fate with which they are playing and they are only children. WWII did not end the appeal of the ideologies. It's only more insidious.
