TOKYOITE..this is what they refer to someone from Tokyo area.Eddoko is another word, but Tokyoite is mostly used.

Read this:
About 1,500 Tokyoites lined up to get their hands on the first shipment of iPod minis to Japan, according to Apple. But when the store's doors were thrown open at 10 a.m., the two young men at the head of the line refused to enter because of the small army of reporters waiting inside to greet them.

I lived in Tokyo area before and I used to read magazines from Tokyo...the website below shows Tokyoites photo taken in Ueno while viewing the cherry blossoms.

Whoever said Tokyoite is correct. That is how the english language newspapers and television shows refer to people in Tokyo.

Someone who was born and raised in Tokyo ( & whose parents and grandparents have lived there ) is called 江戸っ子 or edokko.

It sounds funny, but I really believe the proper noun/adjective is Tokyoian. I have heard Japanese people say this.
