He always looked different to me.Before I was never sure of what he really looked liked.

Well, first, the improbable hairdo changes his look in a big way...
Then, the make-up artists have tricks to make some part of your face look bigger or smaller... There are also prosthetics (right word? I'm Belgian..)...
Then, the filming of Tim Burton. With lights & different angles, you can make things look very different from what they are.
& then, the talent of Johnny Depp... Ever seen Ed Wood? My favourite Tim Burton movie, & my favourite Johnny Depp movie!

its a number of things, no goatee, odd wig and hat, false teeth, weird high voice and what most people dont notice is that he is wearing violet lenses in his eyes, its very subtle but in some scenes you can definitely tell, also the pale skin and the lighting Tim Burton uses. I think the bigger lips is down to makeup too, although i didnt notice they looked any different!

In the movie, he doesn't have a beard. I think his skin color is lighter in the movie which was probably because of the makeup. In a magazine i read, that was what he looked like when he was younger, so he probably did the movie when he was like 25.

You can never tell what a movie star looks like until you see them in person. Cause tv and pictures can change and blemishes and stuff like that. He could look way different than in any movies you've seen him in...kinda freaky...
But he does look way different than in other movies he's in but also when you play different characters you dress and look different on purpose. Willy Wonka and Jack Sparrow are WAY different roles! Hope this helps!!

lots and lots of make up! plus the weird haircut and probably fake teeth...he's so freaky looking in that film but then when you watch the behind the scenes videos and he isn't in costume it's like yay-he's hot again!

Yea,his face is very phastly white,his teeth is different, the lips are different.But most importantly, those purple gloves changed him totally.LOL

they made a cast of his face then made a realistic mask, for him to wear. They then made teeth that fitted onto a brace and thats about it
