Yes...there is some.

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

I think it would be highly conceited and largely improbable that in this infinite universe we are it.

Certainly for life as we know it to exist there has to be a balance of oxygen , heat and light, atmosphere and water in the right proportions to sustain life, but that is only to sustain life as we know it.

It has been shown that some bacteria can thrive in extreme tempratures from sub freezing to rock boiling hot.

Life does not have to be a fully fledged alien with a ray gun, it can be a simple paramecium or ameoba on a distant planet, after all some would argue that is how life started on earth.

I think the question really is do you think Aliens believe in us?

I believe that on some planet out there, there is a good chance of "aliens" or "Extra-Terestrials." The government has found sightings of UFO's in the deserts in Arizona but the Gov. likes to hide this information anyway because they're just shady like that but yea I do believe there's a good chance that aliens do exist.

I believe it would be very naive to assume that in the vastness of space, only one planet developed a species at least as intelligent as modern man. However, given the age of the universe and its size, the odds of a co-existing life form within our time frameand/or within a negotiable distance is very small indeed. Do I believe there were/are/will be aliens, yes.. will we ever encounter one... not likely.

Do I believe that there are aliens out there somewhere? It's very possible. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Do I believe that there are aliens that have visited Earth? No. It's not possible. Apply the laws of physics, and you'll see pretty quickly that aliens have never been here.

LOL!!!! Define aliens.

If you mean people who cross illegally to get into the U.S., yes.

If you mean extraterrestrial life, life on other planets outside our solar system (I think that's what you mean) yes too.

Among the billions and billions of planets orbiting other stars in other solar systems (astronomers have detected many planets outside or our own solar system) there have to be planets similar to Earth that could sustain life.

To say that we are the only intelligent life in the universe is not a very intelligent thing to say.

Off course i believe in Aliens!!!

The Universe is so vast and diverse, we would be so full of ourselves to believe we are alone in the Universe.

We might be alone here in in the Milky Way.

But the whole Universe, no way!

It is quite hard to believe that the species on earth is the primary and only life in all of the universe. Therefore I am inclined to think that there may be another source of life

I believe there are those who want us to believe things that are not necessarily true. Be it angels or aliens, we are not alone. Maybe a rapture wouldn't mean a good thing either? Have you ever bought live lobster?Hmmm.

There are millions of galaxies in the universe. There has to be life in other galaxies. It's ludicrous for us to think that the only life in the universe is found here on earth. There may not be "intelligent beings" in other galaxies, but there may be bacteria-like life there.
