You bet. You have just described one of several auras that you experience before a migraine. You should consult your doctor because you have classic symptoms of migraine headaches.
Mine starts with loss of vision, then mosaic patterns flickering in my visual field, then the headache. I went to a neurologist and he placed me on medication to eliminate migraines, not just treat them. Inderal is one of the medications that is prescribed for prevention of migraines. You could have a headache anywhere from 3 hours to three days. There are many types. There are also several types of medications that will stop your migraine. Just be aware that one of the first signs is the partial loss of vision. For example, only being able to read part of a license plate number. When that happens, I know I am getting a migraine. The first time this happened to me, I thought there was something wrong with my eyes, so I went to see an ophthalmologist who told me it was a migraine and referred me to a neurologist.
Best wishes and please see your doctor. The migraines are usually limited to one eye at a time. Sometimes, the left, sometimes, the right.
Best wishes. Stay away from chocolate, spicy foods, red wine. These are some foods that can cause a migraine.

Sounds like a migraine or something worse but any headache not relieved with over the counter meds or with severe vision problems like yours needs immediate attention. Go to urgent care now and get this checked out. You should not have let this go this long with the severity of your viusual problem yesterday. Also since you are still having problems with the severe headache have someone else drive you to urgent care just in case something serious happens while you are in the car.

It's a common symptom of an oncoming migraine headache. An hour before my first migraine, I could only see with my peripheral vision. It was like I had stared at the sun for a few seconds and I thought I was going blind.

I would have gone to the ER right away, this sounds like high blood pressure since you also had a bad headache. I have a friend who had a stroke and lost the sight in one eye.

You MUST go to a doctor immediatley! It sounds like what is called "zigzag vision" which is a type of migraine headache that affects the eye and sometimes your vision. It is NOT dangerous, but you MUST RULE OUT ANYTHING THAT IS!! Please go to a doctor today!!
