Why does my dvd recorder say that the disc may not be playable when I hook?

my camcorder up to it and try to record my camcorder video to the dvd? I called the place I bought it and they said as long as I have the DVD+R then I have the right stuff and it should work fine. thanks!

Look at the front of your DVD recorder.
If it says DVD+R (or DVD+RW) then you need to record using those discs (NOT DVD-R/W).

Make sure, after you are done with a disc, that you finalize your recordings so you can play them on other DVD players
