You should be able to just import your ripped CD music into iTunes and then synchronize it with your nano. If the music you purchased online is licensed to a specific software, you may have trouble importing it into iTunes. But you can always burn a CD of your purchased music and then import that CD into iTunes.

Download iTunes - you'll need it to get your music on your iPod (It's free.)
During the installation process, iTunes will scan your hard drive for mp3s
It will then ask you if you want these moved to iTunes. Say yes and you're all set.

If the songs are already on your computer, they should transfer to your ipod without having to pay for them again.
