should i use my name for my girls middle name?

my name is cheyenne, do you think it would be dumb or is it a good idea....?

I think it's a cute idea. My parents did the same thing with my siblings. There are 2 girls and 2 boys in my family. The first boy got my Dad's first name as his middle name, and the second boy got my Dad's middle name as his middle name. The first girl got my mom's first name as her middle name, but I must have missed the boat or something. If you follow the pattern, being the second girl I should have gotten my mom's middle name for my middle name, but instead I got a random middle name.

For example:
Parents: Matthew Richard & Rebecca Anne
Children:
Mallory REBECCA
Lillian Anne (how is should have been according to pattern)
Daniel MATTHEW
Christopher RICHARD

It is a good idea, but make sure that you have a first name that goes with it. If you have a name that sounds absolutely atrocious with Cheyenne, then it will not work. Try these:

Honestly, I like the name Cheyenne but it depends on what you're planning to use as the first name. Some names just sound funny together. I do think it is best to use the middle name as a tribute to someone else though.. perhaps YOUR mother and then your granddaughter would have Cheyenne as a middle name (tell your kid it is "tradition"!!)

My sister in law did that and it didn't sound right the baby's name is Alyssa Brenda and it doesn't work but Cheyenne will work as a middle name as well as a first

I think annalyssa Cheyenne is a very beautiful name for a little girl, using your middle name is sweet, men have children named after them all the time, why can't a woman name her daughter after herself as well.

definatly, why should boys get to be named after their father but not the girls after their mother?/ My name is Amanda Dawn and my daugther is Tymber Dawn Abagail- I just liked the Abagail with it. Cheyenne is a beautiful name and will go well with alot of names, my cousin named her daughter Miranda Cheyenne

I like it! It will depend on what the first name is, though, but I think it's a good way to keep a family close, at least on paper. My friend's family has a tradition of giving the grandparents' first name as the baby's middle name. Good idea, really.

I think it would be a good Idea I have my mothers name as my middle name and honestly it makes me feel closer to my mother It's like I'm her twin.lol My mother was going to name my first as her first name but she ended up making her first my middle. I love it and I'm sure that your girl will grow to love it to.

I think it's a great idea! Men can pass their names to their kids and women should be able to do that too! My mom is Phyllis Jean, My name is Pamela Jean and my daughter is Carly Jean. Go for it!
