haha :D no, dust floats on the surface of water or in the air, but not underwater! your fish are safe for now..

If your fish DO look dusty, then this may indicate the presence of a pathogen.
Whitespot tends to look as though the fish has been sprinkled with white specks, but is easily cured with use of an "off the shelf" remedy.

Not sure if this is a legitimate question or not, however if your fish appear 'dusty' it may be Velvet, a parasite similar to Ich. Look here for more info in regards:

No fish don't get dusty. This sounds like velvet.

If their is something on your fish that looks like dust it may be ick. Their is treatment at fish stores for this and it will eventually kill your fish if not treated.

your fish should be in water.. and if it isnt then it probably dead..

but if its not in water then yes it does get dusty..
but if its in water it wont get dusty maybe the water will but not the fish.

Yes! Use a swiffer duster to most effectively remove any dust particulates which accumulate under the gills...especially the dorsal.

No although the water in their tank gathers dust on the top they are swimming around and stay just fine.
