Biz Markie was the bomb in the 80's. Slick Rick was too. Run DMC is always a good choice. Public Enemy was banging in the 90's, but they were still good. And to represent the female rap game, Salt N Pepa put it down in the 80's!

I lived in the 80's but I listen to more rock and pop songs sorry. Run Dmc and the Fresh Prince were good to me anyway.
