Hmmm.. Interesting question.

You can't say anything about women because they are women. It's PC incorrect to make fun of them, thus all the commericials poke fun at the male figure.

You can't say anything about blacks, asians, muslims, etc for reasons you might be labeled a bigot.

The only group you can criticize openly is white anglosaxon protestant males.

Therefore, they are the one group tired of all the PC crap and so will be the ones to say it's gone too far.

NO.

I'm a Latino, Mexican-American (whatever politically correct term) and I think that political correctness has gone way too far. I have friends and acquaintances of all colors and they say the same thing, not just the white guys.

Political Correctness is responsible for Merry Christmas being dumped and replaced with Happy Holidays or when certain books are banned from school libraries or when a Christmas Play is called a "Holiday Pageant". People are so terrified of offending someone or a group that a whole language of non-sensical words have sprung up.

Political Correctness just amounts to common sense being dumped by the wayside by a few cultural elites.

I hear many people say this, not only white males. But...I do hear it MOST from white males - and no, they are not the majority of the people I know (which would explain the higher percentage). I think many of them feel as though they have to be more careful of the things they used to never have to think about - like thinking first before telling a joke that's gender biased, or race biased for example. It causes a resentment among a group that has always felt free to be "politically incorrect" because of safety in numbers and being at the top of food chain, so to speak, when it comes to running things in this country. Don't mistake me, I'm not a fan of political correctness run amok, just trying to look at it somewhat objectively.

It is a good bet that they are a white male because the term "political correctness" is a right leaning coverterm for "euphemism", and euphemisms aren't exclusively the domain of the left. Think about it: big corporations euphemize all the time, and they're not being excoriated by Sean Hannity for being "politically correct". When they lay you off, they say that they are "downsizing", or even better, "rightsizing", or best yet, "outsourcing". All to make it sound like something good is actually going on when they ship jobs to China.

In the end, euphemisms of every stripe, like manners, exist to soften the edges of life. Who was it that said that "the lie is the basis of all manners?"

The pc movement is a lame attempt by government and society to try and appease their guilt for being racist imbecils since time began. We want to make sure minorities have jobs even if they are not qualified or lack skills. Government jobs are hard to obtain for white people because of strict quotas. Here's a dirty secret about your company. Company's receive big tax breaks for each person they hire who qualifies as a minority up to 10k a head. So why would they hire a white boy?

Everyone else is allowed to be politically incorrect, except white males. The PC Police are in lockstep with that.

Probably because political correctness (an attempt to control behavior by intimidation) seems to see every group other than white males as victims.

People like me reject political correctness, and try to treat everyone as an individual, not as a member of a group. All people are entitled to being treated with respect, until they start acting like fools.

I don't think so. I think all white people think political correctness has gone too far. So far that we no longer have freedom to express our opinions without extreme persecution and possibly prosecution.

Because white males are generally the only ones getting into trouble for being politically incorrect.

My wife is latina and she thinks PC has gone too far.

We need to return to the time when you could crack a joke and not have to worry about 'offending' anyone.

EDIT - Watch 'All In the Family' reruns, and you'll see what I mean. You could not make that show today because too many people would complain and 'be heard'.
