Any DVD ever made can be for a blind person cause they can still hear. So I suggest going to your local blockbuster.

It's sad, because I initially took your question seriously. If it were not such an obstacle in the lives of those who are blind, I would try to have more of a sense of humor. I am going to pretend though that you do actually want to be able to enjoy films (even if it is for just the sound) and answer your question seriously.

There are some options for those seeking visual materials for the blind and deaf, but in terms of the visually impaired, I would gather that any information about the medium would depend on the level of visibility one may have.

Since you asked about DVDs, I will tell you that they are a huge benefit to the blind that are attempting to enjoy movies. For example, and perhaps the biggest positive feature, there is the ability to view films, by the screen size. In recent years, more and more films are being offered in different formats, which can help the visually impaired. Now, consumers can chose films that are either wide-screen or full-screen.

In addition, there are options for English subtitles, which may be a little bit larger or clearer since the fonts have greatly improved in the age of digital media, such as DVDs. However, there are other perks, including chapter selection and music-only options.

may i suggest your local public television station, i seem to remember them advertising that some programs were available with descriptive narration for the vision impaired they could probably get you started on the right track. additionally public libraries work with organizations that put out books for the vision impaired they might know where to obtain descriptive narration that has been done for movies. There are also organizations that produce these materials for loan for little or no cost.
