Neither. Prvate or military schools are the best. Public schools are a joke, and home schoolers are overly sheltered and home schooling is not taken seriously by colleges.

I firmly believe that public school is a good thing. I think, even beyond what they will learn (and not many parents are qualified to teach upper level courses) kids need to be socialized, they need to learn to get along with ALL people, not just the perfect ones their folks think they should see, or the ones they like. When grown, these kids will not have options as to who they will see in business, etc. and need to understand early, that they aren't special and don't deserve preferential treatment. I've seen several cases of home schooling and in every case, the schooling parent was NOT qualified to teach (one has a master's but is still dumb as a rock and the kid was just being allowed to isolate himself from people he didn't like. His mother thinks he'll be a good lawyer because he likes to argue. Unfortunately, he has no logic, and thinks saying 'YES IT IS' 14 times is an argument.) and it's NOT good for the kids to not have to compete with others. Whoo. This is too long, sorry. Got my hot button there!

I would have to pick home schooling, because: it's more hands on, you don't have the bad influences, if you have problem with something your teacher (which for me is my mom) will actually help you with it instead of just rushing you though it, you can learn at your pace, and everything is not a competition.
Yes sure you don't get as much socialization as public school kids , but in public school you're too busy going from class to class, you don't have time for friends. There are co-ops for home schooled kids, so they can socialize.
People really can't say home schooled kids don't know how to interact socially, maybe they're just shy.... there are socially inept people in public school too. People really can't say either way if they haven't been through both.

It totally depends on the discipline of the parent and child. In most cases Public is better. If you have genius stay at home or rich parents then possibly Home is better. Grassy would state as a rule Public Schooling is better due to the opportunity costs where the parents can earn additional discretionary income.

Public School, or privet, both is better than home schooling, home schoolers have a hard time making friends, and often lack communication skills to function in todays society, family is a good thing but home schoolers have too much family time and not enough "privet" or time for them, ie time with friends things like that. I think it is important for everyone to experience school. Real School

What tips the scale for me is the potential for home-schooled children to experience less social interaction with other kids, and thus less development of common social skills and less exposure to differences between people.
There are ways that a wise home-schooling parent can avoid this, of course, but it is something that often gets overlooked.

With public school, you have the opprotunity to meet plenty of new people and different ways to get help on homework. Plus, you can go to pep rallys, the games and plays and all that stuff. I'm not too sure about home school.

I am not judging anyone who homeschools because people have plenty of justification for doing it but so many children are not socialized. Meaning they do not know how to deal with people that are different from them in any way because they grew up only around mom dad and sibs because of home schooling. I think that it shows everywhere with kids and teens even on this Yahoo answers page. Kids are growing up more and more intolerant of differences and the country is becoming more and more hostile towards each other. I think that homeschooling is part of that problem. NOT a huge part but its one of the sticking points against it for me.

I'm a public school kid, and I like the fact that I meet so many people that I wouldn't have known through homeschool (like my best friend and boyfriend). However, homeschool is nice because the focus is entirely on education, not the drama and stuff like that that happens in public school.

It relies upon on what's your purpose? What do you plan to get out of school. One advatage of public college is you could in all possibility be progressed socially. reward of this is networking and help. additionally, faculties have greater aspects and get right of entry to to varsity than you in all possibility could. they are able to grant you greater effectual suggestion and provide help to pick and plan for college with the main concepts-blowing path artwork. you in addition to mght work together with diverse instructors with a huge determination of journey and archives which you will no longer locate from books on my own. there is likewise the actual preparation application that is lacking in domicile education.
