If the number is going up that's a great sign. I'm sure they are still checking your hcg levels. Here's a great link to determine if those numbers are within the average for how far along you are. It really gave me good info (i'm 6 weeks preg.). Best of luck to you.

It really depends how much time passed between both of the blood tests. If you had the first one on Monday and it indicated 36 and you had your second test on Wednesday and it showed 84, that's a very good sign, because your levels should doubble every 72 hours and despites of the heavy blleding your pregnancy progresses and most likely is viable.
If the second test was taken on Friday or after Friday and you basically have more than 72 hours between the results, then the numbers aren't doubling and the pregnancy might not be viable.
If you're uncertain, I advise you to talk to your doctor! Good luck!

That's a good sign that the heavy bleeding did not result in a miscarriage.
You should see a doubling every 24-48 hours for the first two months. After that it slows down.

In general the hCG level will double every 72 hours.
Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :
* 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
* 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
* 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

I knew a girl who was getting her periods all the way to the 8th month she was pregnant with her son. If your doctor tells you that your fine you dont have anything to worry about.

If you're still pregnant it would be normal.
Bleeding tends to be associated with miscarriage, which would cause your levels to drop, not rise.
