Who supplies the "winnings" to contestants for game shows?

Corporate sponsors? Insurance companies?

I mean Jeopardy gives away an average of $15-$20K a night. How can they afford that with hardly anyone watching anymore?

To be quite honest with you, I feel that Jeopardy is one of the cheapest game shows on T.V... I mean those people work hard to answer all of their questions, using there brain power, and at the end they dont even get "Parting-Gifts", after all of their efforts!! Makes no sense to me!! However, the way they get the funds, like for instance "The Price is Right", everything on their show, is advertisements... They have a spokesman explain in detail, all of the giveaways, the contestants get, and so all of the Businesses get Free advertisements, for giving up each one of their items, to the show... And then on some of the other game shows, alot of times the advertisements are from commercials, you know when one particular game show has alot of commercials, in between coming back on, you know what I mean.. Its all done through advertisments, for other companies.. They all get a kick down from one another.. Hope I answered your question for you... Smile! Happy New Year to You & Yours!!!

Commericals-- the Wheel Jeopardy block of TV is still very popular and endorsers pay top $$ to get thier commericals aired during that time. Lets not forget merchandising.

ok......whats with you and wanting to know about game shows, you can find anything on google, why do you come on yahoo answers, people are just gonna say something wrong just to get some points......but yea the sponsors pay the contestants
