How do you get a funny smell out of wool? I bought a swaeter from a thrift store and have washed it twice! Any solutions that will clean better?

That sounds difficult to eliminate but it is NOT.. One way of two is: Rather than chemically treating the clothing, simply hang them on the clothes line for a couple of days. The combination of fresh air and sun shine should take care of the problem. and another way is: . You can also put them in the dryer on air only (no heat) throw in a dryer sheet and that will freshen them if the air drying doesn't help.

In addition to the fresh air or Febreeze (good ideas, both), you could try putting a sachet with a few herbs with your sweater, or an empty perfume or cologne bottle without the lid. I do that with my dresser drawers, and it works nicely.
