and later on found out that they were in fact pregnant???
Does anyone know if its possible to have low hcg and not be detected in urine???? but maybe be detected in blood???

That is soooo possible. I didn't find out I was preganat with my son till I was 3 almost 4 monthes preganat. I had a SUPER LITE PERIOD for the 1st 2 monthes and then when I didn't get it the next month a took a preg test. Came out neg. Waited a few weeks and went to the doctor. The blood test showed I was preg and the sonogram they did the same day showed I was not only preg but almost 4 MONTHES PREG!!! Talk about a shock. And to think I thought that funny sensation in my stomache was gas. It was the baby begining to move!!! Go get a blood test if you are in doubt.

Yes, I did. Well, by day 5 I had the faintest, faintest whisper of a line on the test, which was only visible in natural light and disappeared when the test dried.
Wait 2 more days and test with the early morning urine. If you're pregnant, you'll notice a different result if you use the same test.
You can always get a blood test, which will answer the question definitely, since it is far more sensitive. By the time I went for blood, I was 5 weeks and my hormones were well within normal level.

Are you taking your test in the morning as soon as you get up? This is when HCG levels are the highest. If by the 7th day your are testing neg and still haven't started then I would go see your OB and find out what's wrong. Also, check out this site and see if you are having any of these symptoms. This site is good because it can give you reasons other than pregnancy to why you are having them. Good Luck!

With every baby Ive had, Ive had my tests be negative for 2 weeks that includes blood tests. Once I missed a period AND waited 2 more weeks, I would test positive on a home test finally.
So, dont give up testing if you are still having pregnancy symptoms even with negative tests!

My daughter tested about that time, and it was negative. When she still did not get her period after 5 more days, she took another one. She is now the mother of a 3 month old son. So the answer is yes!

yes I did 2 x's I could not find out urine wise till I was 2 weeks past due. ( I have always been on a 28 day cycle) You can do blood and it will show up. I would suggest that!

i almost never tested positive on those home tests when i was pregnant. i was late by 2 weeks took a test with fmu and it came out negative, but since i didnt get my period, i went to the doctor a week or so later and they said i was pregnant. (and i didnt get pregnant during that week after i took the test cuz i didnt have sex that week)

my home test was positive at 3 days late
