Fire him for WHAT??? A bad season where the QB was hurt most of the year? Oh wait because he has been coach too long. Well there is a great view for players. Don't plan to have the coach around too long. Don't come to this team if you like the coach because he will be gone in a few years. Yeah I know it isn't college and the coach doens't have to recruit the players but yeah the coach can still make a difference.

The Steelers will not fire him. The Rooney's are not like that. They have to much respect for the Cowher family. Is he leaving, I say yes! I am a little upset but he needs to b with the family and he has his Super Bowl. I just hope that the Rooney's make a good choice in the next coach. As far as luck on the SB, no way!!! They went on the road and did what they had to do, plus isnt that why they play the game - to get a winner?

No need to fire him. I've been saying for more than 6 months that he will beg out of his contract and retire for one year, then become head coach of the Carolina Panthers after John Fox is shown the door. Cowher's wife is from Raleigh, NC, and she and their last remaining live at home daughter are already living in their new home near Raleigh. They also own a summer home in NC. There is a reason Cowher didn't go for his usual extension. He isn't going to spend three quarters of the year without his family closeby. Say goodbye (And I say good riddance) to Mr. Bill next weekend. Go-Go-Go-Steelers.

no he should not be fired. you get to be good by keeping a coach longer than 2 years (Cleveland) and winning a Superbowl. Cowher is a great coach and motivator. He should get a contract extenstion. And BTW, winning a superbowl by luck means you got there by luck and the steelers pounded out great wins over other great teams to get there. No Luck involved in that.

The Steelers will never fire him , the Rooneys are very very
stubborn they will stick with him , Cowher is a very stubborn man
he also sticks to his decisions. alla Kordell,,,Tomsavk,, Maddox,
now Ben and his offensive line When are this high paid coaches going to
get it through there heads you cannot do anything without an
offensive and defensive line..both suck this year for the
Steelers..

they won't fire him... he'll most likely quit at the end of the season. this year the fire just wasn't there. last year was the whole jerome bettis reitring thing, the superbowl being in his hometown, the steelers being the sixth seed with pretty much no chance of winning the wildcard game, etc. i'd be sad to see him go, but if there's no drive left then its for the best.

they will not fire him. the question is if he will return or not. he will most likely take a couple of years off. they have had a rough season, but they have had some injuries.
