Or is it the modern day equivalent to the Red Scare, in that the government is using terrorism to control the masses? Is it as big a problem as you think, or is it just the media portrayal?

I work for the human rights group Amnesty International. Our website documents many cases of human rights abuses in Islamic countries.
1) women are forced to wear burquas
2) gays and lesbians are often killed or put in prison.
3) In Iran it's a crime to get converts to Christianity.

It is a clear and present danger.It is already spreading throughout Europe and much of the world.
