My Gateway Laptop (MX6430) came with an Adaptec Dual TV Tuner - I can record tv shows directly to my computer:

I've never purchased anything from E-bay, but I see that they are being sold for about $25 - I can't vouch for it, but the tuner I have works very well. If it's legit, it's a real bargain.

It depends on what you call "TV". You can watch free shows that are on TV, I gave them as my sources. To get you Laptop hooked up to actual cable might cost you a pretty penny!

Depending on what shows you watch, you can go to their websites and see if there are archived episodes that you can watch for free. For example, on CBS they have what they call innertube where you can catch CSI episodes, and on ABC you can catch up on your favorite shows as well. That's what I do when I miss something on television. Thankfully we have DSL so the connection is good and I don't usually get bumped off the internet.

nicely, definitely they do make a television tuner card even regardless of the indisputable fact that it particularly is definately no longer unfastened. I had one some years returned, it replaced into exceptionally ok yet quickly when I spent the money for it i found available are televisions everywhere I went so I in no way watched it.
