Why would you want to find prices on the internet? They may be totally invalid for your area as the prices for repairs can vary from one locale to another.

Just haul your butt down to another nearby shop and ask for a written quote for the same work. That way you know its competitive.

It would not sound appropriate in any respect. intake/exhaust manifold gasket shouldn't cost that lots. it somewhat is in basic terms a rely of removing the manifold and alter the gasket, then reattach it. No machining is needed. on the different hand, to replace a head gasket, the entire remarkable end of the engine could come off, alongside with the top, valves, etc. Then the top could be machined to guarantee absolute flatness. Then replace the gasket and reassemble. to try this pastime on Mercedes-Benz with directly 6 engine cost me 1200 money. in case you have V6 engine (which i've got faith you do), it may cost 1600 money as they are saying, yet nevertheless, is this in basic terms for a gasket substitute or is machining of the top part of it? what's frightening is, on your case, the mechanics are already charging you way too lots for different less complicated jobs, and it would not even look they understand what needs to get replaced. i could bypass someplace else for the pastime.
