i own a repair shop, and if there was a lot of water in it this might cause it,,but most of the time it wont get the pump on one,,and 445 bucks for a fuel pump ,and labor that's a little high for that vehicle,,i know dodges use a complete assembly on there's fuel system, but he,s over charging a little bit there,on this one,,id try some gas drier in it,and see if this helped it any at all ,before i spent that much on it,,I'm sure even if it is the pump gone bad in it,,that you can get it done a lot cheaper than that,, i usually charge around 350 for the whole job on these trucks,so if the gas drier don't work is shop around before i had to spend that much on it,good luck hope this help,s.,,happy new years.

Bad gas cannot make the fuel pump go bad, it went bad on its on. The bad gas will make the motor run badly. The mechanic is charging you for labor mostly. Fuel Pumps run around $ 100 or less.

Usually buying bad gas will make the engine quit starting or run poorly, if you drove it to a mechanic it seems you may try replacing the fuel filter only, as this may correct the problem. I would also add some fuel additive, usually CHEM-TOOL works best. GOOD LUCK.

you got water each and every of ways from gasoline tank to the carb or injectors which ever. I had this subject and that i basically saved beginning with a sprint gas to the carb till it began. you ought to diconnect the gasoline line on the carb and crank it and seize the gas in a field till at last the water end coming.
