I have been breastfeeding for 4 months now and in the middle of the night (not everynight) when I change positions (usually from back to side) I get a shooting pain in my left breast. It hurts so bad it wakes me up. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what is it???

I had a shooting pain in my left breast, but it was during my pregnancy, not from breastfeeding. It also occurred at night, I never asked my doctor, but I believe it was like a muscle or something being pulled..

i think you should go to the doctor and tell him about it. Im a cardiac nurse and you should have this checked out because it may be heart related. Good Luck, please call th docotr asap. Did you know that women are more likely to die from a heart attack becuase we dont seek medical help when we feel chest pain?

Shooting pains are sometimes thrush, but it is odd that yours always seems to occur at the same time.

Relax, it's okay it's just milk producing in the milk ducts of your breasts. try nursing on that side last! that breast is filling up with milk.
