Not should he be hung, but when.
He is not the kind of person who will reflect upon what he has done and be remorseful or haunted by his actions.

I agree with you, but the problem is not only the obvious pressure from the military and Iraqis themselves, but also the fact that Saddam was tried in the Iraqi system. If he were tried in international court, he could rot like Slobodan MiloÅ¡eviÄ, but in Iraq the prospect of escape or being simply let go is way to dire.
Just last week, his nephew escaped from a prison in N. Iraq, a US Compound. We always hear about how the Iraqi troops lack resolve and are often back-stabbers (according to liberal media) so once we left could they be trusted to keep this man under lock and key? In the Iraqi system, he would most likely stay in Iraq, as opposed to going to a more secure international prison.
And already, American liberals are talking about restoring Saddam back to power (WTH!) One of the first was a writer for the LA Times (I forgot who) but I think executing Saddam is the only rational response.

i TOTALLY agree with you
i was telling all my mates the same thing.
he TORTURED HUNDREDS of people and killed them to withought a second thought. He fed children to LIONS and did much , much more
he also chose about a dozen men and KILLED them (shot them) just to show how powerful he was !!
By hanging him we are giving him afew minutes of suffering and then it will all be over.
PLus, i believe NO ONE should be executed. Even HIM !
I think he should be a little TORTURED ,(whipped, beaten, skinned, anything to make him feel pain) and then thrown in prison 4 the rest of his life !
However, the families of his victims might think diferently. Like they might want him to be burned to death or something !
the fact his : He is an EVIL, CORRUPT,WICKED and so many other horrible words that if i wrote them all i would have to write another page or so.
i just hope his victims families and friends feel at peace noing he's never going to come back again !

Hanging is not a form of torture;it's a form of execution.Sadaam Hussein should not be hanged but made to think about the thousands of people he had killed during his tenure as dictator of Iraq.Yes,he was an evil man and should pay for what he has done, but killing him will not bring back murdered love ones to those who mourn their deaths.

Perhaps he was sentence right and just by his own people, but the political climate in that part of the world is unrest everywhere. Is it the right time? I would have preferred this sentence being carried out when our troops are out of that country and and Iraq in a stable form. Again thats doesn't look too promising at this time.

It's a tough choice. If hung he will be a martyr but he won't be able to dictate any more vicious crimes. If you let him live in prison he undoubtly will keep on dictating his terror cause there will still be followers that he'll be reaching out to. I doubt highly either that he'll ever feel sorry for what he's done. I hope you aren't saying this cause you don't believe in the death penalty cause in this case it's the only way to rid us of this terror.

People in power like that have nothing to think about. He is certainly not going to be crying himself to sleep with all the people that he had killed. Look at George Bush, all our soldiers that have died since we entered Iraq! I remeber reading a newspaper article saying that Bush is getting his sleep when no ones else think he does. people in power dont have guilt. but probably the people who actually committed the act does

Nope, he should be hanged. I don't see a reason to feed and cloth this monster. Who would pay for it....his victims families? Don't think so. He is one of those people who just deserve to be wiped off the face of the earth...a big fat mole, that just has to go for the sake of the whole face. I think I may throw a party the day he leaves this realm.

Yes he should. After spending time in that region during Desert Storm and seeing some of the damage, he must be put to death. As for that idiotic comment from another person, "Of course he should...he is not white....", you sir are a moron.

I really don't care if he reflects or not. This is not about that evil man. He needs to be dead and gone so the people of Iraq can begin to heal and move forward. My belief is that he feels that as long as he is alive, he will have hopes of restoring his regime.

I think he should be blindfolded and decapitated in front of a live audience. The same way I seem numerous civilians done on Saddams command.
