Considering the boards were not used for any constructive discussion, but were just a haven for racist, partisan and malicious posts from people who enjoy the anonymity of the internet way too much. They also should get rid of the Chat rooms because if you do enter a room, you are inundated by bots and people advertising their webcam sites. If you don’t agree with me, the answers to this question should prove my point.

I don't feel that yahoo news is better off without the boards, just better off without what the boards had become. When I first started the boards, it was generally a place where you could intelligently disuse different view points. Every once in a while you ran across and idiot that bashed you for your opinions, but all and all it wasn't a bad place.
When the trolls and children took over and Yahoo didn't reprimand for breaking the TOS is when the trouble began. It's kind of like letting a child do what ever it wants and then getting upset because you can't make them mind.
Hopefully Yahoo can re-design the boards and bring back a place where people can discuss issues like adults.

I agree with you 100%. Useless amounts of energy is spent in those discussion boards. Is it really a discussion or place for people to insult other's and give their opinions.? '-)
