1. It could be Favre's last hurrah
2. If the Giants lose on Saturday, which is a definite possibility since they are playing poorly and on the road and there is dissension in the Giants' camp to get rid of Coughlin.
3. It is a great rivalry however the Bears have nothing to play for but they dislike Green Bay enough to make a good game out of it
4. Green Bay is in the playoffs with a Giants loss and a Packers win because they have a better conference record than the other 7-8 teams.

When the TV stations pick what games they want to show for next season, they are generally looking at last season. Certain teams can greatly outperform or under perform from last season. In the past, this had created some very poor and even boring prime time match ups. Who wants to watch two 1-14 teams on Monday night football when there are major playoff implications from another game that would bring in more viewers? Recently flex scheduling was introduced because it helps both the network which would get more viewers (and therefore more advertising dollars) and the NFL would pray the good sport because the networks are giving the NFL billions of dollars for the rights to air those games.

The game time was changed due to the fact that this game still has playoff implications. The game is going to be played during "prime time" because they expect more viewers than if the game didn't affect the playoff picture at all. So with higher viewership comes a better time slot so that the networks can charge more for advertising. It's all about the money.

The contracts at the end of the season for the NFL have clauses in them that allow certain games to be moved. It only happens in the last 4 weeks of the NFL.

But the Sunday night game is on NBC. The NFL network game this week is Washington Redskins vs. New York Giants on Saturday Night.

it is because of the nfl flex schulde they are allowed to change games like that. the rating will b high because they are going to advertise it as a possiblilty for bretts last game, which it very well may b but ill think he will b back next year. it also has alot of playoff impilactions because the packers have a decent shot if they win.

Because they want to put it on the Nationwide feed, instead of the Regional feed.

So much for scheduling our flights so we'd be able to watch the game in Chicago. I'm just glad now that we DIDN'T get game tickets (THAT would have p*ssed me off no end).

I hope they can this idiotic idea of "rescheduling one random game per week" next season.

The NFL wants Brett Farve to play his last possible NFL game in prime-time on television. It'll make for good ratings and will allow Farve to go out with a bang.

because this is going to be a big deal and those of us out here on the west coast who have to work want to see it too. But really, it's because the game is so important to the Packers, and this could be Bretts last year, blah , blah, blah...
